The piano life saver system increases the tuning stability of your piano, by reducing shrinkage and swelling of wood components. The system noticeably extends the lifespan of all piano components — woods, felts, glues, buckskin, metal pins & strings, soundboard and action. The system can help to reduce or eliminate action issues including rattling, loose and tight keys. We strongly recommend the Piano Life Saver System for all pianos in the Calgary area. At 2/3 mile above sea level, air does not naturally carry enough moisture to keep a piano at its optimum humidity level of 45% R.H. (relative humidity). In winter, the system gently humidifies to a preset level of 45%. During the summer season, humidity increases. When central heat is not running, the furnace fan stays off and stagnant air can result. These conditions lead to swelling of wood components (stiff/sticky keys), mold and/or rust. When the system detects excess moisture it switches modes, gently dehumidifying the air and creating a gentle draft through the inside of the cabinet. The system has no moving parts and operates silently. A small, 3-LED indicator (can be installed hidden) reports on the status of the system (Green: System Operating Normally; Yellow: Refill Water; Red: Change Pads). Usually the pads are changed by a technician when performing your annual tuning. Water is added using a specially-designed jug and (hidden) tube which leads to the internal tank. All the user has to do is check for a yellow light, add a capful of water treatment solution (first bottle included) and fill the jug. A fill line on the jug eliminates the possibility of an overfill. The effectiveness of the system can be enhanced by an optional custom-fitted, removable, cloth undercover (grands) or backcover (uprights). To purchase and schedule installation, please read below. •
