Unfortunately, keyboards and “digital pianos” (aka synthesizers) are not designed to be serviceable over the long-term. Manufacturers simply do not produce enough stock of spare parts, nor do they provide access to service manuals.
Instead, we recommend the addition of a digital (optical) system by PianoDisc or QRS Music to an acoustic piano. This will provide you with the weighted touch response needed to progress in your piano technique, while adding 88 built-in instruments (PianoDisc only), the ability to practice silently using headphones, record and share your playing. Add reverb, chorus, delay, transpose (PianoDisc only) and play live!
Both systems (PianoDisc & QRS) have been in production for over 25 years and are fully serviceable by Ruttle piano works workshop and field service technicians. The video below provides a brief introduction. For more information please contact us. •

Thousands of Satisfied Clients
David was very polite and efficient over the phone, got everything scheduled quickly. Michael came over for the tuning and was all worth it. He mentioned that these days, piano technicians don’t even need to play anymore because of tuning software. Fair enough. But after he finished tuning, he casually sat down… and played Chopin. I nearly fell off the couch in the next room! 😄
He was so humble about it too — said he plays “just a little.” Yeah, right. It sounded like a private concert in my living room.
Michael also kindly shared some info about the piano itself — turns out it’s a good beginner instrument, but if I decide to play seriously one day, I might want to consider upgrading. He didn’t try to upsell anything — just offered genuine, helpful advice.
All in all, I highly recommend them. Friendly, skilled, professional — and if you’re lucky, you might even get a Chopin encore with your tuning!
